Otho Wayne Gordon, age 85, of Wilmington, DE went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Born near Independence, Kansas, in 1927 he was the son of Otho and Alcie Gordon. He graduated from Field Kinley High School in Coffeyville, Kansas and married his childhood sweetheart, Wilma Lee Hodges on July 10, 1947, shortly after his return from service with the Navy.

Wayne worked in the aircraft industry at Lear Jet, Martin Marietta, and Boeing for 40 years. He retired from Boeing Vertol in Eddystone, PA in 1992. He was devoted to his faith and helped to found the Delaware Valley Christian Church of Media, PA. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling and collecting pedal cars.

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma; and is survived by a daughter, Peggy Gordon Bradley (Richard Hauge) of Wilmington, DE; a son Michael D. Gordon (Vicki) of Wichita KS; two brothers, Cecil Gordon of Wichita KS and Claire Gordon of Caney KS; eight grandchildren, Kirsten Bradley, Caridan Bradley, Cort Bradley, Drew Hauge, and Ryan Hauge, all of Wilmington, DE, Kimberly McCollum of Derby, KS, Ryan Gordon of Lawrence, KS, and Nikki Barker of Olathe, KS; eight great-grandchildren; and a multitude of cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Lower Brandywine Cemetery, 117 Old Kennett Road, Wilmington, DE. Memorial flowers may be sent through Chandler Funeral Homes, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803.
