Jesse Palmer Bogart was born on August 14, 1887 in Nebo, Illinois. His father was Moses White Bogart (1838-1926) and his mother was Mary Melvina Bogart (maiden name was Buchanan) (1848-1930).

Jesse married Mary Allen Mowerson in December 1917 in Boise, Idaho. They had two children, Jessie Marjorie Mowerson (1917-2003) and Mary Edna Bogart (1923-1964).

After Mary died in March 1929 Jesse married Flosie Bogart. They had no children. Jesse's third marriage was to Florence M. Bogart. They moved to Lodi, California in 1955. Jesse and Florence were founding members of the Lodi Senior Citizens Club and they were both very active in its activities.

Jesse died on October 10, 1970. He was buried at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.

At the time of Jesse's death he was survived by his wife Florence; daughter Jessie Marjorie (Mowerson) Goss; three grandchildren, Andrea (Sherrer) Chittenden, Hans Sherrer and Stephen LaFrenier; three great grandchildren, Ben LaFrenier, Jesse LaFrenier and Vickie Chittenden; and stepson Rodney E. Rasmussen.

Jesse's wife Florence Bogart died in September 1975 and she was buried next to him at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
