John Wilson Taylor of 2315 23rd Avenue North, departed this life Wednesday, February 11, 1976 at 2:15pm in a local hospital. He was the older son of Mr and Mrs John Taylor, Sr. He was born September 1, 1891 in Lincoln County, Fayetteville, Tennessee and attended the publoic schools of Lincoln County. Later he met and married Delia Scott and to this union were born five loving children who survive him.

He obeyed the gospel under the leadership of Elder H. E. Braden and Elder J. T. Webster while yet in the old building. When he could not be present due to declining health, he sent his contributions.

Wilson, as he was called, was blessed with many friends. He was a good neighbor and was loved by all who knew him.

While he deemed it right and sensible to prepare an earthly home, he also knew that such a home was not permanent and therefore, made preparations to live in the home of his Father in Heaven.

He is survived by a devoted wife Delli Taylor; two sons Neal and Bert Taylor; three daughters Mary K. Chatman, Clara Buford, and Eunice Buford; five sisters Kizzie Baker, Savannah Wright, Susie Lee Gee, Emma Curry, and Rena Buford; three brothers Howard E., Charles, and Henry Taylor; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; two sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family Sunday evening, February 15, 1976 at Fifteenth Avenue Church of Christ from 7:00 till 8:00 PM. Due to illness, Dr. James Dennis will not be present. Eulogy will be delivered by elder Joe Webster with remarks by other ministers. Flower ladies pallbearers will be Sisters and Brothers of Fifteenth Avenue Church of Christ.

Interment Monday, February 16, 1976, Gospel Garden of St. Matthew, Greenwood Cemetery, at 11:00 AM.
