Mr. Callahan served his native town in various capacities as a member of the fire department and also as a traffic officer of the police department and was active in the Affairs of the Chelmsford post, American Legion. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an attendant of St. John's church and a member of the Holy Name society of that church.
He leaves his wife, Ann (Armitage) Callahan; a daughter, Eileen Ann Callahan; two sisters, Nina M. and Genevieve A. Callahan, both of North Chelmsford; four brothers, Steven and Philip of Boston, Paul of New Jersey, and Donald F. of North Chelmsford; and several nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the home of his sisters, the missus Callahan in Groton Road, North Chelmsford, by Undertaker James F. O'Donnell & Sons.
