Age 73. Was a farmer in Virginia in 1850. To Atlanta in 1858. Was a newspaperman for several different papers, including the Constitution. His obituary says "he was genial, big-hearted and clever and never in his life proved false to the confidence that his friends reposed in him." During the war he served as general news agent in Johnston's department of the army of Tennessee.
