Funeral services for Mr. William Lee Teer will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 2:00p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Josh Gafford will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Woodland Cemetery near Kirvin with an Honor Guard provided by the U.S. Marine Corps and an escort by Patriot Guard.
Visitation will be held on Saturday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Teer passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at his residence in Teague with his family at his side. He was born on August 17, 1943 in Teague, attended Teague High School, and entered into the U.S. Marine Corps in 1965. He served two years in the Vietnam War and later returned to Teague and married Joyce Bishop of Riesel on July 29, 1968. Mr. Teer was employed for several years at Leon's Garage and eventually opened and operated his own small engine and auto repair shop in Teague for many years. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #5872 in Fairfield and was an avid bingo player.
He is survived by his wife of almost forty-six years, Joyce Teer of Teague; two sons, William Russell Teer & wife Chantal of Teague, and Robert Lee Teer & wife Jonna of Temple; one daughter, Lisa Lynn Campbell & husband Alan of South Dakota; two sisters, Lillie Marie Roane & husband Bill of Teague, and Nancy Bennett & husband Kevin of Hillsboro; four grandsons, Jeremy Snow, Ryan Snow, Justin Teer, and Russell Teer, three granddaughters, December Snow, Alyssa Teer, and Rachael Teer; two great-granddaughters, Brooklyn & Adyson Dixon; five step-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Stahl, Roger Brooke, James Gunter, Randy Turner, David Crundwell, and Bill Rutherford. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Schrader, Heavy West, and Bill Roane.
Mr. Teer was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow & Ruby Lee Teer.
The family requests memorials be made to Providence Hospice, 107 E. Commerce, Mexia, TX 76667.
