After graduating from Burnet High School in 2001, John received a track and field scholarship to Texas State University (SWT) where he won multiple conference championships. He earned a Bachelors degree in Exercise Sports Science in 2006 and later a Masters in Education in 2010.
John was a true renaissance man. He played the piano, harmonica, tuba, trumpet, bass and lead guitar, and drums. He was a music composer, writer, artist and was fluent in Spanish. John even played semi-pro football for the Corpus Christi Sharks arena football team in 2007. He loved hunting, fishing, barbequing and spending time with friends and family. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, the Burnet Bulldogs and most of all his Texas State Bobcats.
His passion was his band the Peace Pipe Prophets where he entertained crowds in San Marcos and Austin as the lead guitarist. John's relentless pursuit of success was unmatched; he could do anything he set his mind to which is evident in his life resume. He made a positive impact on the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know him and he will never be forgotten. ROCK HARD YOUNG MAN FROM NOW AND THROUGHOUT ETERNITY!!
