Chauncey C. Cada, 77, 523 E. Broadway, died Monday at St. Anthony's Hospital, Rock Island, Ill., for six months, he had been living with his daughter in Illinois.

He was born here Aug. 15, 1880, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matthias Cada. He married Emma Mundt, who died in 1927.

Mr. Cada was employed as a bridge carpenter for the Chicago & North Western Railway until his retirement several years ago.

Surviving are: Two sons, Harold and Lester, two daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Hazel) Speltz, Rock Island, and Mrs. George (Dorothy) Wood, Libby, Mont.; one brother, Joseph, Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Entriken, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Mary Bilder, Winona; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two brothers have died.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at Watkowski Funeral Home at at 9 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church. The very Rev. Msgr. D. D. Tierney will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary will be said Wednesday. Rosary will be said Wednesday at 8 p.m, led by Msgr. Tierney.
