Darrell S. Hepler, 72, of Tarentum, formerly of Walkchalk area, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Allegheny Valley Medical Center. He was born July 31, 1940, in Kittanning, to John S. and Anna G. (Helm) Hepler. Darrell was a member of the Franklin Union Baptist Church in Worthington, where he formerly served as a deacon. He also served in the Nation Guard. Darrel worked in the dairy department at Foodland until his retirement. Some of his hobbies included his enjoyment for antique John Deere's and antique cars. He was an organ donor. He is survived by his wife, Roberta (Simon) Hepler, of Tarentum; a son, Scott Hepler, of Worthington; four brothers, Donald Hepler and fiancee, Sharon Miller, Richard Hepler and wife, Susan, Larry Hepler and wife, Bonnie, and Dean Hepler and wife, Beth, all of Kittanning; a stepdaughter, Danica; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Joanne (Claypoole) Hepler; his daughter, Shelby Papciak; and son-in-law, Eddie Papciak. Family and friends will be received from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the Franklin Union Baptist Church in Worthington with the Rev. Jones officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Darrell's honor to the Franklin Union Baptist Church, 105 Century Hill Lane, Worthington, PA 16262.
