Ada Mae Thomas Reed Strausbaugh was born in the village of Cheshire, Gallia Co Ohio on August 14, 1925; the daughter of Earl Eltro Thomas and Sarah Jane Ward.

She married Clarence Reed, who was killed in action in World War II. Her second husband was Clovis Lawrence Strausbaugh, who preceded her. Ada Mae and Clovis owned and ran the Big Dipper Restaurant in Wilkesville, Ohio.

Ada Mae was an elder in the Wilkesville Presbyterian Church, charter member and past president of the Wilton Civic Association, Wilkesville Grange, the Pythian Sisters, Past Chiefs Club, Wilkesville Garden Club, Wilkesville Order of the Eastern Star, and Wilkesville Women's Auxiliary Post #476.

Survivors are sister Louise Bell of McConnelsville, Ohio; sister in law Merlyn (Glenn) Arnold of Columbus, Ohio; brother in law Paul Strausbaugh (wife Sandy) of Newark, Ohio; and various nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ada Mae was preceded by her parents, husbands Clarence Reed and Clovis Lawrence Strausbaugh, brother Archie E Thomas, sister Frances Geneva Hartman, and infant brother Earl Lewis Thomas.

Her funeral was Wednesday March 23, 2011 at the Wilkesville Presbyterian Church, with internment at the Vinton Memorial Park cemetry.
