Arnold L. "Bosh" McDowell

Services for Arnold L.”Bosh” McDowell will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Richey Baptist Church with Reverend Grady Dodge, Reverend Scotty McDowell and Reverend Lou Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Campbell Cemetery, Ruby, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

The family requests that visitation be observed Monday at Richey Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday.

Mr. McDowell, 68, of Deville passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at his residence.

He was a member of Richey Baptist Church, where he played bass guitar in the church music group. Mr. McDowell served his country in the United States Army. He was a glass glazer for 35 years. Mr. McDowell was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved to play Southern Gospel Music. He loved life and was always joking. He loved all of his family, especially his grandchildren, and he will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold R. and Verdie Campbell McDowell; brothers, Eugene McDowell, Paul McDowell, and James Ray McDowell; sister, Ada Elaine McDowell; mother-in-law, Inez Deville.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Charolette Deville McDowell; sons, James McDowell and wife, Susan, Damon McDowell and wife, Leslie; daughters, Stephanie Basco and husband, Jason, Angie Bowen and husband, James; sisters, Darlene Maxwell and husband, Tom, JoAnn Roberts; grandchildren, Alyssa McDowell, Amber McDowell, Justin McDowell, Chase Basco, Cade Basco, Cheyenne Bowen, Mason McDowell, Tori Bowen, Madelynn McDowell, Kaylee Bowen, Kameran Bowen, and Mallorie McDowell; great grandchildren, Riley Austin and Tucker Littleton.

Pallbearers will be Chase Basco, Justin McDowell, Cade Basco, Mason McDowell, Jason Alwell and Kim Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Alyssa McDowell, Amber McDowell, Cheyenne Bowen, Tori Bowen, Madelynn McDowell, Kaylee Bowen, Kameran Bowen and Mallorie McDowell.

The family would like to thank Compassionate Hospice Staff , and a special thanks to Tammy and Tiffany.
