THOMPSONVILLE -- Dana Riddle, 41, departed this life Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at her home surrounded by family and friends.

She was born April 15, 1969, in Carbondale, the daughter of Ronnie and Cathy (Wece) Riddle Sr. Teaching was Dana's passion and she taught at Thompsonville Grade School. She graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a B.S. in education and was Summa Cum Laude in her class.

She attended Grace Awakening Church in Benton where she very much enjoyed the music.

She is survived by the love of her life, Neal Mezo; parents, Ronnie Riddle Sr. and Tina Wallace of West Frankfort, Cathy Hungate and husband, Tom, of Thompsonville; daughters, Charly and husband, Dalton Williford, and Jesse Brandon; sisters, Christie and husband, Jay Bybee, of Thompsonville, Tawnya Hungate, Shelly Montgomery; a granddaughter, Amilya Williford; dear friends, Stacy Brockett, Robbi Zirkelbach; many cousins, uncles, and aunts; the Thompsonville community; her church, and the Ta-Ta Mafia.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Riddle Jr.; nephew, Ronnie Riddle III; maternal grandparents, Roy and Norma Wece; paternal grandparents, Mildred and Robert Riddle.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, in Grace Awakening Church in Benton, with Pastor Kenny Petty officiating. Interment will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Rileyville.

Donations may be made to the family and will be accepted anytime at Varis-Stone Funeral Home in West Frankfort.
