Cecil Franklin Estes, 67 of Eldridge, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Sam D. Estes and Maury Mattox Estes ; his maternal grandparents John Columbus Kendrick and Lettie Jane Davis Kendrick ; his father Cecil Lee Estes ; and his precious grandson Jacob Elliot Johnson . He was survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Judie Lynn Estes ; son Bryan Estes ; and daughter, Stephanie Estes Johnson and her husband , Frankie Johnson . He was lovingly known as "Pop" by his grandchildren, Josh and Nick Estes, Connor and Kaitlyn Johnson. He was also survived by his loving mother, Lila Kendrick Estes ; his brothers and sisters ; and a host of relatives and friends.
Frank worked twenty years as a millwright. After that, he worked in various areas of coal and timber operations including Alabama Wood Products and LaFayette Woodyard in Mississippi. He developed Lake Pointe and South Pointe Subdivisions located on Lewis Smith Lake and another in the Black Pond community. His latest endeavor was Franklin Bend Estates located on the Black Warrior River.
Frank loved his family and community and served them well and accomplished much in his life. His greatest passion was being a favorite playmate to all his grandchildren and spending time with his family.
