She was born in Burton, W.Va., and moved to Salem in 1950. She worked for J.C. Penney from 1962 to 1969 and for the state elections office from 1970 to 1979.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed working with the church, gardening, reading and camping. Her husband, Leon, whom she married in 1943, died in 1992.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Ridenour, Cathy Garrett and Patty Schmidt all of Salem; son Mike of Camas, Wash.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be noon to 8 p.m. Monday, and services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
