Eutimio C. Salazar, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at his home in San Ignacio, NM.
Eutimio was born in San Ignacio, NM on February 2, 1929 to the late Pedro Salazar and Carmelita Lucero-Salazar. Eutimio was united in marriage at San Ignacio, NM to the late Beneranda Maria Salazar in March of 1951.
Eutimio was a ranch foreman for approximately 30 years working for Rancho San Ignacio, an Arabian horse ranch, until his retirement. Prior to working in Rancho San Ignacio, he had a self-owned logging and sawmill business that he and family operated for many years.
Eutimio was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend to many. Eutimio will be remembered as a prideful, humble family man, who was hardworking and always provided for his family. Eutimio instilled respect, caring and strong family values to all who knew him. Eutimio enjoyed family gatherings and loved the outdoors.
In his younger days, his favorite pass times were horseback riding, hunting, fishing and raising cattle at his ranch. Eutimio was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Carmelita Salazar, sister, Nicolacita Solano, grandson-in-law whom passed away the same day, Demcy Romero Jr.

Rosary services were held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church in San Ignacio, NM and on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will follow at San Ignacio Cemetery in San Ignacio, NM with the following serving as Casket Bearers, Gene Salazar, Roger Salazar, Nicholas Salazar, Jesse Márquez, David Salazar, Leroy Salazar, Julian Márquez, Phillip Salazar, Melecio Perea, Zachary Armijo and Aaron Salazar. Serving as Honorary Bearers will be all his remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
