Barbara Parsons was a graduate of Avon High School in Avon, Indiana. She had three brothers, Robert "Bob", William "Bill" and Ronald "Ron" all of whom survived her. She married John E. Alden, who preceded her in death, and they had a daughter. She was a resident of Mount Lebanon [near Pittsburgh], Pennsylvania. A memorial service was held there at the funeral home of Laughlin Memorial Chapel.
