RANDLEMAN -- Geneva "Slab" Tucker Hinshaw, born Geneva Alice Millikan, April 12, 1923, to Noah and Vallie Millikan. She was the eldest of six children.

She departed this life on Oct. 9, 2006, to meet our Heavenly Father and family that have passed on. Those being, her husband and father of four girls, George D. Tucker; her mother and father; brother, Noah "Bottle" Millikan; and a sister, Inez Garrett. Most knew her by her nickname of "Slab." A devoted wife and mother, she was never afraid of hard work. Raised on a farm, she learned to tend to animals and how to raise food for the table. Up at dawn and not stopping until everything was done for the day. She retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill after 27 years of devoted service.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with the Rev. Adrian Pugh officiating.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Carl Nickison of Azle, Texas, Fay and Fred Trogdon of Randleman, Vivian and Terry Hunt of Seagrove and Shirley and Mark McDowell of Denton; stepdaughter, Pat Scruggs and husband, Larry, of Houston, Texas; brothers, Frank and Tommy Millikan of Randleman; sister, Joyce Grant of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Terry White, Wendy Wright, Kimberly Darr, Tommy White, Amberly Null and Aaron Hunt; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Null, Brady White, Owen White, Tradd White, Lauren Wright, Jacob Wright, Sara Darr; and stepgrandchildren, Hunter and Chandler Crutchfield.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to Moses Cone Cardiac Care and Rehab. Department. To all the doctors, nurses, and techs who showed so much kindness and caring to all of us. So much thanks to Hospice for their care, kindness, and support to us. A special thanks to Randleman Senior Citizens for being there for Mom and the friendships that kept her going for so long. She often said, "I don't know what I would have done without my girls." Now we say, "What will we do without you?"

Thanks for the beautiful rainbow Monday morning, what a wonderful way to say good-bye!

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405.

(She is buried using 1st husband's name.)
