Katherine was born September 17, 1910 in Clinton, IA to Peter and Christina (Behr) Van Doren. She was educated in Clinton County schools. She married John R. Hoff on September 3, 1955 in Nashua, IA. He died on June 6, 1973. She farmed with her husband in the Garden Plain Township area where she lived from 1955 until moving to Fulton, IL in September 1989. She was a member of York Baptist Church in Thomson, a former member of Whiteside County Home Extension, and a member of the T & F Card Club in Garden Plain.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Mary (Mrs. Donald) Collinson of Des Moines, IA and Lois (Mrs. Rush) Wilkens of New Berlin, WI; seven step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; two sisters, Susie Harridge and Elsie Wilden; and one brother, Peter Van Doren.
