Cara "Carrie" Wheat (Baldwin) Lochhead [1866–1929], daughter of Rev. Edward Furman Baldwin and Ella Amelia (Wheat) Baldwin, was educated in America and England, and was a minister in her own right in Morocco, Syria, and South Africa. She married in 1892 to Matthew Lochhead, born in Scotland and owner of an historical South African newspaper. Their two sons died young. Carrie left South Africa for America to care for her mother. In her later life, Carrie lived with her younger sister Gertie's family in Greensboro, NC, USA. Carrie died there and is buried in the plot next to her sister's. Born September 4, 1866. Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, USA.Died June 16, 1929 (Age 62). Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina, USA. Married April 6, 1892 (Age 25) Port Elizabeth, Cape Colony, South Africa. Named for her paternal grandmother, Caroline "Cara" Elizabeth (Ambler) Baldwin, wife of Rev. Norman Bristol Baldwin, Sr.
