Ralph Tifft Aitken
1922 - 2013

Ralph Tifft Aitken was born to Ralph B. and Julia Aitken in 1922 and passed away at his home in Lincoln on February 17, 2013. Ralph was raised in Rocklin with three other siblings and attended Roseville High School. Ralph married his high schoolsweetheart, Barbara Jane Willard in 1942. Ralph joined the Army Air Corp., in 1942 and was stationed in England with the 8th AirForce, 304th Bomb group as a Welder.
Ralph was a second generation turkey rancher, who moved his wife and three children, Judith, Robert and Raymond, to Lincoln in 1955 to start his own turkey ranch. He and his sons, Robert and Raymond, raised turkeys from 1955 until 1992, producing approximately 600,000 birds annually.
He is survived by sisters, Edna Aitken Hilty of Roseville and Barbie Aitken Rosell of Sacramento; children, Robert (Linda) of Lincoln and Raymond (Elizabeth) of Greenville, Calif.; grandchildren: Leslie McCartney Meek, Stephanie Aitken Fury, Colleen McCartney Morrison, Katie Aitken Maldonado, Melissa Aitken Key, Laura Aitken Hernandez; and ten
great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by daughter, Judith Aitken McCartney (Michael); his wife, Barbara of 64 years; and brother, John Aitken.
Private burial will be held in Rocklin.
Donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or Vitas Hospice.
