Obituary

Kenneth L. Kabler passed away suddenly at his home in Ventura on Friday, February 22, 2013. Ken was born on December 30, 1942, in Wichita, Kan., to the late Walter and Dorothy Kabler. While attending high school, Ken started on his career path as a student worker at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. After high school graduation he continued working full-time while pursuing his degree at Long Beach State University. Following his college graduation Ken continued to work full-time at the Shipyard where he met his wife, Linda, of 44 years. In 1968, the Kablers moved to the city of Ventura and Ken went to work at the Port Hueneme Naval Base, and he successfully pursued his Masters degree from California Lutheran University.

Ken retired in December 1999; he then found an interest in cruising and started his own cruise business in January of 2000. For the next 10 years, Ken had the opportunity to enjoy many wonderful cruises with his wife, Linda. He was a faithful member of Community Presbyterian Church for 30 years.

Ken is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Kathy and Kimberly; granddaughter, Sarah; and sister, Karen. He will be dearly missed and forever live within the hearts of his family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, on Thursday, February 28, from 6 until 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the same location on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Ken Kabler with a memorial donation to the , 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231.
