Catherine is the daughter of John George Miller and Susan Good

Catherine is listed among those births of the Salem Lutheran Church, Penn Township; indexed within the book "Early Pennsylvania Births, 1675-1875", compiled by Charles A Fisher. Other than the birth date; it also reveals the sponsors, J. Geo. & Catherine Ulrich.

Death is unknown for Catherine; she is found on the 1880 census with her son Thomas J., however, does not come forward to the 1900 census year. A search of City and County Directories also do not list her after 1880.

Her place of burial is also unknown; however, her last location is known to have a gravesite near the woods where three of Thomas J's children are buried. According to John Christopher, the current owner of the property, at one time there were more grave stones in the area that were apparently destroyed while logging operations were being performed. Since neither the grave of Catherine nor Thomas J's wife, Schrelda, have been located; can only assume they rest at that site.

Married February 13, 1823 in Greene County, Ohio to Benjamin Grindle

Seven children born to this union; those not linked below:

Julia A. Grindle - born 1837 in Mad River Township, Clark County, Ohio; married May 16, 1856 in Green County, OH to William B. Smith; two children listed with her in 1860 - Alice E. and William E; the Smith family is unable to locate after the year 1860.

NOTE: research of her we see middle initial is in question. Her marriage license reveals first writing of her name as Julia L Grannell, while second and third writing lists her as Julia A Grannell. The LDS record lists her Julia A. Grindle.
