COLUMBIA – James L. Wilhite of Centralia died Tuesday at the age of 63.
Mr. Wilhite was born Oct. 13, 1949 in Little Rock, Ark., to Lester and Lucille Baker Wilhite. He married Linda Mosley on Oct. 8, 1983 in Columbia.
Mr. Wilhite was an avid outdoorsman. He liked fishing, boating and camping. One of his favorite activities was floating on the Current River.
Mr. Wilhite also loved working on his house and land.
Mr. Wilhite was a family man who also deeply valued his friends. He was a caring and loving man who will be greatly missed by those close to him.
Mr. Wilhite is survived by his wife, Linda Mosley and his children: Stacy Mosley and husband, David Wilson, of Columbia; Travis Wilhite and wife, Lisa, of Hallsville; Troy Wilhite and wife, Jennifer, of Harrisburg; Jaime Buck and husband, Gary, of Mexico, Mo.; Teresa Mansell of Warsaw; Leigh Matthews and husband, David, of Beaverton, Ore.; and Jeff Mosley of Beaverton, Ore. He is also survived by his siblings: Ronnie Wilhite and wife, Cissy; Dean Wilhite; Richard Wilhite; Brenda O'Connor and husband, Doug; Judy Wilhite; Victoria Baker; Roxanne Nichols and husband, John A.; and Barbara Wilhite. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his father, Lester Wilhite, of Columbia.
Mr. Wilhite's mother, Lucille; brother, Mike; sister, Patricia Wright; and grandson, Tyler, died earlier.
There will be a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 E. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the same location. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
