Donald Harvey Pace, 80, of 3917 Clinton Ave. died of a heart ailment Sunday [Oct 27, 1996] at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. No services are planned. Burial of the cremains will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Pace was born in Council Bluffs and moved to Des Moines from Ames in 1970. He retired as a cost estimator at Brown Brothers Electrical Contractors and was a Navy Seabee during World War II and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Surviving are two sons, David of Des Moines and Steven of San Francisco; and a sister, Loretta Pearson of Sacramento, Calif.

His longtime companion was Mae Izumi.
