Randall "Randy" Cross Stegall, 59, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013. Randy was born December 12, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas to Lillian and Clifford Stegall. After graduating from Arlington Heights High School in 1972, he received his Bachelors degree in English studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. Following in his father's footsteps, he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary's University Law School in 1980 and assumed his late father's law practice in that year. He began his studies of real estate and title insurance law during college, when he worked for Commercial Standard Title Company at the Tarrant County Courthouse performing research assignments and data collection. In the 1980's, Randy served as the General Counsel for Safeco Land Company in Tarrant County. For more than a decade, Randy served as President of four of the largest title company operations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, including Alamo Title, LandAmerica American Title, Lawyers Title Company and Commonwealth Land Title Company. Randy also served as General Counsel for Alamo Title Company. Randy and his wife, Priscilla, own three offices of Lawyers Title serving Southlake, Flower Mound and Fort Worth, as well as, The Stegall Firm, a law office in Southlake. Randy was Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and was also Board Certified in Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He had a rating of "A-V"; the highest possible rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Randy spent 40 years dedicating his life serving the Real Estate community with his hard work, his wisdom and his teaching. As a gifted attorney, Randy used his humble, servant heart to spread his professionalism, generosity, knowledge and his contagious, glowing smile with many. Randy loved to entertain! He had an amazing sense of humor which would fill a classroom. No matter who you were, Randy made you feel special. He had a warm, infectious personality that drew you in. He was an avid and accomplished musician, a devoted husband, a loving father and a faithful friend to all. Randy was preceded in death by his mother Lillian, and father Clifford Stegall. Survivors: Wife, Priscilla Stegall; Son, Cliff Stegall and wife, Julie; Daughter Kara Ford and husband, Chris; Stepson, Trey Walton; Stepdaughter, Emily Walton; Grandchild, Landon Ford; Brother, John Stegall and wife, Patricia; many cousins and other loved ones. Services: 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2013 at Bethesda Community Church, 4700 N Beach Street, Haltom City, Texas 76117. Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, immediately following the service. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Greenwood Funeral Home, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Memorials: In Randy's honor, the Randy Stegall Scholarship Fund has been set up to continue his legacy of leadership, education and knowledge that Randy bestowed upon so many individuals.
