Mr. Rayford Kelley

Mr. Rayford Kelley, age 84, 809 S. Broad Street, Rome, passed away Saturday morning in a local health care facility following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Kelley was born in Polk County on September 15, 1913, son of the late Morgan and Rosie James Kelley. He was retired from Ojay Mills in Calhoun following 11 years of employment. He was a member of the Silver Creek Church of God. Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his wife, the former Pearl Thacker, on May 28, 1993, by a daughter, Mrs. Pearlene Nevins in 1993, and by 7 siblings.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Almagene Cagle, Rome, a son, Charles Kelley, Lindale, a sister, Mrs.Odelle Everett, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the graveside in Floyd Memory Gardens. The Rev. Elgin Williams and the Rev. Joseph Miller will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home today from 4 until 6 p.m., and at other hours they will be at the residence of the daughter, Mrs. Almagene Cagle, 201 Dellwood Drive, Rome.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
