According to James' tombstone, which identifies him as "J.A. Edenfield", he died October 18, 1902. A news article in The Forest Blade on July 10, 2002, however, states he died November 18, 1906.
His wife, Eliza Edenfield, has a CSA widow's pension application on line in Emanuel Co. in the GA Archives. She says they married April 1869 and he died 18 Nov 1906 in Emanuel Co. (Sometimes memories are not quite right--when marker stones are put up months or years later. It happens many times.)

I don't agree with the above marriage date with Eliza Edenfield. I think it's more likely after 1874. He was still with Mary in 1870. OWB
