Lt. Col. James M. Anderson, Native of Fayetteville, Buried in Birmingham --

Lt. Col. James L. Anderson, 56, of the U. S. Air Force, formerly of Fayetteville, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 9, in Elgin Air Force Base Hospital, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, after a long illness.

Funeral rites were conducted Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock in Birmingham, Alabama, with full military rites at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery there.

He was a native of Lincoln County, a son of the late D. C. and Flossie Ramsey Anderson. He was a graduate of Central High School and attended Bryson College.

He was a veteran of World War II and had served in France, Germany, and Japan. He was a member of the East Lake Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lydia Roberts Anderson; four sisters, Miss Margaret Anderson, Mrs. J. C. Wells, both of Fayetteville, Mrs. David Moyers and Mrs. Robert Solomon, both of Lincoln County; a brother, M-Sgt. William Anderson of Selfridge Air Force Base, Michigan.
