Ruth Hedrick Tully of Beckley died peacefully in the hands of the Lord on January 5, 2011. She was a gracious, compassionate, and talented lady. The daughter of the late Grover C. and Ethel M. Hedrick, she was born, raised, and educated in Beckley. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley College, and West Virginia University. Ruth taught Biology at WWHS for many years. After her teaching career, she happily pursued her love of genealogy, and she brought our family's history of Tully's, Shank's, Campbell's and Hedrick's to spirited life. She was a devout member of the Beckley Presbyterian Church, a member of the Beckley Woman's Club, and many state and national genealogical societies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence T. Tully and brothers, Oppie L. Hedrick, Grover C. Hedrick, Jr., Thomas A. Hedrick, John A. Hedrick, Harold A. Hedrick, and sisters, Macie E. Shank and Anna Lee Campbell. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, with Beckley Presbyterian Church Associate Pastor Janice Tiedeck officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum A. The family suggests donations of sympathy can be made to the Beckley Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. On-line condolences may be left at www.calfeefh.com Arrangements by Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley.
