MABEL (EMMONS) BURNS , 408 Ave C., Rock Falls, died at her home at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday. She was born June 22, 1877, in Tampico, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Emmons. During her life, she had been a member of the Rock Falls Methodist Church, the Tampico Grange, Pomona Grange and the Tampico Royal Neighbors. Surviving are her husband, Homer Burns; one daughter, Mrs. George (Gladys) Thompson, Nachusa; two grandchildren, Mrs. Jack (Arlene) Garland, Harmon; and Harry Thompson, Tampico; five great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Young, Tampico; and one nephew, Darrell Graham, Tampico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Emmons, two sons, Harry and Clyde Burns, one infant daughter, twin sisters who passed away in infancy, and one other sister, Mrs. Minnie Love, Tampico. The body will be taken from the Wheelock Funeral home to the family home at 408 Ave. C. Rock Falls, late this afternoon and will be returned to the Wheelock Funeral Home for funeral services Friday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Norman Miller, officiating. The casket will be opened again at the graveside before burial at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
