Stanley J. Bernard, 93, of Fort Wayne, owner of Tom Berry Music Co. for 45 years, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Miller's Merry Manor.

"Stanley enjoyed gardening, woodworking and instrument repairs."

The Catahoula, La., native was involved with Elks Lodge 155, UCT of Fort Wayne and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Surviving are a son, Donald of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Sarah Scheimann of Afula, Israel; a sister, Marian Grenn of Bogue Chitto, Miss.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His wife, Henrietta, preceded him in death. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2305 Goshen Road. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Graveside services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6600 Covington Road. Memorials are to the church.
