Doctor was the son of Logan S. and Elizabeth W. Morgan Smith. On September 11, 1873 he married in Clay County, AL Miss Nancy J. Browning. Doctor and Nancy were the parents of 8 children; Mattie Martha, John Bernard, Mary F., William Thomas, Melton J., James Logan, Robert S., and Raymon M. Smith, all who were born in Wicker, Clay Co., AL. He was my maternal great grandfather.
The only headstone showing his resting place is the rock shown in the photo, carved by hand.
