Ruth Elizabeth Tippy was born May 12, 1924 to Noah and Laura Doorway Neace in Sand Ridge. She leavesher mother of Mayfield, Kentucky; four brothers, Jackson Neace of Vergennes, the Rev. Dan Neace of Murphysboro, Sylvester Neace of Metroplis, and Charles Neace of Belvidere; and five sisters, Rose Robinson and Minnie Wolfe, both of Murphysboro, Ruby Oldman of Belvidere, Mary Brown of Paducah, Kentucky and Elma Blair of Mayfield, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father and one sister.

She married John Tippy on July 29, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He survives as do children, Ruth Ann Sands John Tippy, both of Murphysboro and Frank Tippy of Geneva.

Mrs. Tippy was a member of the Mount Carbon Church of God. She died at the age of 57 in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
