Daniels, Charles E.
Born in Decatur, Illinois, son of Harry & Dora Belle (Glessner) Daniels. He was the founder of Tolly's Markets which started in on August 1, 1937 until they were sold in 1980. He was an officer and director of Daniel's Realty Co. and 3-B stores Inc. (True Value Hardware Stores). He was a member of The Great Light Masonic Lodge #1064 AF & AM, the Springfield Consistory, The Macon Chapter #21 R.A.M. Beaumanoir Commandery #9, Springfield Ansar Shrine, The Decatur Shrine Club, The Illinois Sherriff's Association., Parents Club, J.R. Gorin Chapter Order of Demolay and Elks Club #401 of Decatur. He was affiliated with the First Church of the Nazarene.
He was married to Mary Elizabeth Demlo first and they divorced. He later married Mary Bourland in 1966.
Survivors include: his wife, sons Kevin E. & Philip A. at home, Richard E. of Decatur, Rollin of Springfield, Frank D. of Decatur, Steve D. of Bloomingdale, Il., Mike of SanFrancisco, Ca. and daughter, Mrs. Beverly J. (Daniels) Jackson of Decatur, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
His parents and one sister preceeded him in death.
