Beverly actually died @ Philadelphia Naval Hospital after being transported from Lakehurst N.J. shortly after the birth of a son. She did not die in Florida as previously reported. This info came from her son Robert Jr.

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Robert (Beverly McMahon) Melton, 29, Lakehurst, N.J. formerly of Decatur are incomplete at the J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral home.
Mrs. Melton died at 3:42 pm Saturday in Naval Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa. She was born Oct 1, 1937 in Decatur a daughter of James and Edna Robb Thompson.
She married Robert Melton on Aug. 31, 1956 in Folkston, Ga. He survives. She also leaves her mother of Decatur, four daughters, Cheryl Ann, Deborah, Laura Sue and Christine Rene, all at home, two sons, Robert Allen Jr., and David Glen, both at home, three sisters, Mrs. Earl (Imogene) Austin of Detroit, Mich, Mrs Jerry (Gloria) Ryan and Mrs. Sam (Maxine) Critchelow, both of Decatur, two brothers, Van and Glen L. McMahon of Decatur.
