Roy Robert Allen, age 86, of Kimberling City, MO, formerly of Piedmont, MO, passed away, Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Cox South in Springfield, MO. Roy was born on June 5, 1926, t Luther and Anna Faulkner Allen. Roy Attended school in Piedmont at the Hales College and drove a log truck for the Absheer Brothers before serving his country in the United States Army during World War 2. Roy was in the infantry and was stationed in the Philippine Islands and was bound by ship to Japan for the invasion when surrender was declared. Upon arrival back in the states Roy married Callie Berry on January 17, 1946 in Piggott, AR., and to this union four children were born. After marriage Roy and Callie settled in St. Louis, MO, where Roy worked for Laclede Gas in St. Louis for several years. Then later moved back to Piedmont where he worked for Berry Bullets and owned and operated Allen's Ammo in Piedmont, MO. Roy was saved in 1952 at the United Pentecostal Church at 13th and Gravois in St. Louis, MO. He served the kingdom in various ways starting as an outreach director of a nursing home services. After moving back to Piedmont he served as pastor of the Piedmont United Pentecostal Church for 12 years from 1979 to 1991 when he retired. In his spare time he loved to crappie fish at Clearwater Lake, hunt, and spend time with friends and family. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 67 years; one son, Robert Buddy Allen and wife, Angie, of Branson West, MO; three daughters, Constance Allen Coffman and husband, Robert, of Kimberling City, MO, Jeanne Allen McNall of Branson West, MO, and Rebecca Allen Valdez of Blue Eye, MO; ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Everett Allen; and four sisters; Mary Allen Dickerson, Pearlie Allen Hughes, Verlie Allen Blackwell, and Juanita Allen Berry. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 5:30 P.M. at the Piedmont United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will follow on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. also at the church. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery near Piedmont, MO.
