EARL GRISWOLD LOVELAND, JR, 31, of 106 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield, died Saturday morning at Mount Sinai Hospital as a result of injuries in a sewer trench cave-in Thursday afternoon. After being rescued from the 12 foot trench which collapsed around him, Loveland was brought to Mount Sanai where his condition was reported as critical due to internal injuries. He failed to improve and died Saturday at 7:10 a.m.
Born in Hartford, October 25,1926, a son of Earl G. and Mary York Loveland, he was a life-long resident of this area. He was a member of the Blue Hills Baptist Church. Besides his parents of Bloomfield, he leaves two brothers, Winton S, Loveland of Bloomfield, and Ralph Y. Loveland of East Springfield, NY: a sister, Mrs. Shirlee Butch of Granby; five nieces and four nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Blue Hills Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield. Friends may call at the Morrison W. Johnson Funeral Home, 749 Albany Avenue, today and Monday 7 to 9 p.m.
