Cpl US Marine Corps
1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, out of Camp Lejeune, NC

He was nine when he moved to the US from Thailand. Known as Ahn, his childhood and teenage years followed an untroubled American middle-class pattern. He attended Waterford High School where he was known as an avid soccer player and where he discovered snowboarding. He loved the Marine lifestyle and a tattoo on his arm read "US Marine, made in Parris Island", a reference to the location of his training. The other members of his unit nicknamed him Chuckles. Ahn was killed in a firefight outside Nasiriyah but for three weeks he was listed as missing in action. Ahn had died with six other Marines while trying to secure a bridge over the Euphrates.
