Odessa Inez Molinar Alvarez passed from this world to the next on Tuesday, July 24, 2006 at home with her family. Inez, a long-time resident of Odessa, was born November 7, 1921 in Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico. In her early years, Inez was an accomplished professional seamstress who loved to sew. Inez was a perfectionist who could sew anything from wedding dresses to curtains. Inez married Barney Alvarez in 1960 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. They started a family and shortly thereafter, in 1963, moved to Odessa, Texas where they raised their children. In 1973 Inez began working at Fashion Cleaners where she enjoyed a long career until she retired at the spirited age of 80 years old. Friends and family describe her as being intelligent, classy, feisty, loving and extraordinarily witty. She was a blessing of tremendous charm and good humor. Those who knew her well found that it was impossible to forget that this warm, caring woman was a source of strength for all around her. Her unique, contagious laughter and bright, mischievous eyes lit up too many lives to count, and in her modesty she would have made fun of us for trying.
We remember Inez as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Barney Alvarez of 46 years, three sons Hector Molinar and wife Alicia, of Odessa, Robert Alvarez of Midland, Texas, and Roy Alvarez of Odessa, her two daughters Elizabeth Madrid and husband Armando of Midland, Ginger Paredes and husband Jesus Erasmo Paredes of Texas City, Texas, and her fifteen grandchildren, Jessica Molinar and husband David Otte, of Portland, Oregon. Jennifer Molinar and husband David Scott of Chicago, Illinois, BJ Sanchez and wife Monica of Odessa, Texas, Krystal Sanchez and husband Robert of Midland, Erika Sanchez, of Midland, Derick and Rachel Alvarez both of Salem, Oregon, Bianca Alvarez of Midland, Maura, Grecia, and Julio Paredes all of Texas City, Adonica, Laurin, Deseree, and Vanessa Alvarez all of Odessa. At last count Inez also had eleven great-grand-children,Salvador, Anthony, Izabella Inez, Baliana, Darin Sanchez, Me'a, & Robert Meridyth, Ethen & Lex Alvarez, Christopher Carrasco, Percy A. Taylor.
Inez is also survived by two brothers Toribio Molinar of Brownfield, Texas and Guadalupe Molinar of El Paso, and seven sisters, Elva Faver and Bahola Solorzano of El Paso, and Maria Valenzuela, Angela Leyva, Paula Sotelo and Sofia Payan all of Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico, and Maria de Jesus Rubio of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
