John D. Butts, of Albany died Monday, March 4, 2013 at Phoebe North.
His funeral service will be Thursday 11 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Harrell and Mr. Embree Bolton will officiate.

A native of Luverne, AL Mr. Butts attended schools in Luverne and Albany. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After returning from military duty he settled in Albany and retired as Plant Manager for Albany Warehouse Company after 33 years.

He was a quiet man. A dedicated Christian, and a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg, he loved and was loved by his family. Mr. Butts was a wise and talented man as seen by what he dreated with his hands and heart. He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Nina L. Butts, Albany; sons, Mike Butts and wife Kim Leesburg, Steve Butts and wife Donna, Leesburg; grandchildren, Katherine Butts, Joshua Butts and wife Lauren, Lauren Butts, Michael Butts; great grandson Ryland Butts; brother, Billy Butts, Albany and a sister, Mary Emma Shular, Seneca, SC.
