Ellen was born in County Leitrim, Ireland in about 1806 and immigrated to Ontario, Canada in the 1840's with her husband, William and their five children:
Patrick (1829-1905); Dorothy(Dorotha) (1833-1917);Maria Martha (1838-1902); William Patrick Jr.(1840-1906);and Eliza (1848-1907). Their farm was located on Lot 4, Concession 7 in Howard Township.
She was a baptismal sponsor at St. Michael on 26 May, 1867, so she died after that and before 1871 as she is not on the 1871 Canadian Census with William. Her three youngest children: Maria,William and Eliza eventually settled in Michigan in the U.S.
