Sylvanus "Van" Rust is found on May 7, 1870 in Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas, USA, enlisted into the U.S. Army by Lieutenant Moylan for 5 years; from Kenton County, Kentucky, farmer; grey eyes, light hair, height 5'11"; Regiment Calvary, Company I, Deserted March 7, 1871. Fort Leavenworth is near Missouri where Mary Jane Rust Love moved while married to her first husband Ballard Love. I believe this is where Mary Jane met up again with Sylvanus Rust, whom she likely knew before from earlier years while growing up and living in Kentucky with her father Albert G. Rust, since both Mary and Sylvanus were known to be from Kenton County, Kentucky.
Sylvanus and Mary Jane are now found living again in Kentucky where Sylvanus married his first wife Mary Jane Rust Love-Rust on December 15, 1873 in Kenton County, Kentucky, USA. Sylvanus' father William is also a farmer and tobacconist, as was Albert G. Rust, the father of Mary Jane, so it's safe to say Albert and William were close to each other, and more than likely Mary Jane and Sylvanus knew each other from childhood. Mary Jane is now known as Mary Love by her married name, and at sometime after her marriage with Sylvanus she begins to go by her middle name Jane, or known as Jane Love Rust. It is safe to say after looking over many records that Jane Love-Rust is Mary Jane Rust Love-Rust. The headstone lists Mary Jane's birth as 1851, which is incorrect. As we know there is a history of some of the children of Albert G. Rust having their birth year changed for likely the lack of knowledge by those giving the information for placing the headstones. She was actually born 1846. There are records showing Sylvanus married a Mary Love, and records which show Mary Jane Rust married Ballard Love. Since Mary began using her middle name Jane, she became known as Jane Love-Rust, which over time has led others to believe her maiden name was Love when actually Rust is the maiden name for her, and Love is the surname of her first husband prior to her marriage to Sylvanus Rust.

NOTE: Eliza Rust is listed on census records with Ella and Samuel one year. The census claims she is a daughter to Ella, but that cannot be as the ages are wrong. The age of Eliza was given as 26, born about 1884, and she would be too old to be a child of Ella and Samuel. This then gives proof the parents of Ella and Eliza both are Sylvanus and Mary Jane. Eliza is certainly not a child of Ella and Samuel.
Also, the parents of Eugene Farnsworth Binkley and Oaklona L. "Oakie" Binkley (the 2nd wife of Sylvanus) are Franklin "Frank" Pierce and Mary Ann Krantze Binkley.
After the birth of their 2 daughters Sylvanus and Mary Jane Rust Love-Rust then moved to live in Tennessee where Mary Jane passed away in 1904. She is buried in the same cemetery as her second husband Sylvanus "Van" Rust.

I have not been able to find any further information on her husband at this time. Mary Margaret died shortly after she was married, and there are no found children listed at this time, and few records are found for her.
Sylvanus passed away April 30, 1927 in Davidson County, Tennessee, USA in the Davidson County Asylum for the Aged, Insane and Destitute; Marital Status listed as Widowed (though he was widowed from Mary Jane, his second wife Oakie was still living; Occupation listed as Farmer. So far there are no available cemetery burial records yet to be been found for Oakie, the second wife of Sylvanus Rust.

In 1920 Oakie and Sylvanus are actually living in Florida. Below is the 1920 census which proves this. Ancestry transcribers have transcribed the names incorrectly. If you look at the census closely you will see it is actually Sylvanus Rust and his family, though it is difficult to read.

Clearly these are 2 totally separate women. Oakie and Fannie may well be cousins, which is only a guess. Records though do prove Oakie and Sylvanus lived in Florida for a time as seen on the 1920 US Census for Florida, where they are listed. Oakie also died before Sylvanus with his death being listed as 1927.
Now, I believe that Sylvanus and Mary Jane (Rust) Love Rust likely met Fannie and Oakie both at the church they attended, which Sylvanus and Mary Jane are both buried in the church's cemetery. The cemetery belongs to the church which was founded in 1859 as Mt Pleasant Free Will Baptist. Which is also likely where Eliza met Eugene. Fannie was very active for the Free Will Baptist denomination within the community, which is documented online by her relatives. So, even if Oakie and Fannie were only cousins they more than likely went to the same church, or at least knew the Rust family through activities within the denomination of the Free Will Baptist. Considering the records I have meticulously researched I believe without a doubt this is correct information.
It is with certainty that Fannie is not Oakie, and Oakie is not Fannie, no matter how much people want this to be so. Unless Oakie was able to split herself into 2, and be with 2 different men at the same time, and in 2 totally different states at the same time in 1920, then it can be said without a doubt Oakie and Fannie are 2 totally different people, and Fannie is not who people are looking for when they look for Oakie. They do not have the same parents listed, nor the same children, and do not have the same husbands.

Fannie was very active for the Free Will Baptist denomination within the community, which is documented online by her relatives. So, even if Oakie and Fannie were only cousins they more than likely went to the same church, or at least knew the Rust family through activities within the denomination of the Free Will Baptist. Considering the records I have meticulously researched I believe without a doubt this is correct information.
It is with certainty that Fannie is not Oakie, and Oakie is not Fannie, no matter how much people want this to be so. Unless Oakie was able to split herself into 2, and be with 2 different men at the same time, and in 2 totally different states at the same time in 1920, then it can be said without a doubt Oakie and Fannie are 2 totally different people, and Fannie is not who people are looking for when they look for Oakie. They do not have the same parents listed, nor the same children, and do not have the same husbands.

Sylvanus "Van" Rust is found on May 7, 1870 in Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas, USA, enlisted into the U.S. Army by Lieutenant Moylan for 5 years; from Kenton County, Kentucky, farmer; grey eyes, light hair, height 5'11"; Regiment Calvary, Company I, Deserted March 7, 1871. Fort Leavenworth is near Missouri where Mary Jane Rust Love moved while married to her first husband Ballard Love. I believe this is where Mary Jane met up again with Sylvanus Rust, whom she likely knew before from earlier years while growing up and living in Kentucky with her father Albert G. Rust, since both Mary and Sylvanus were known to be from Kenton County, Kentucky.
Sylvanus and Mary Jane are now found living again in Kentucky where Sylvanus married his first wife Mary Jane Rust Love-Rust on December 15, 1873 in Kenton County, Kentucky, USA. Sylvanus' father William is also a farmer and tobacconist, as was Albert G. Rust, the father of Mary Jane, so it's safe to say Albert and William were close to each other, and more than likely Mary Jane and Sylvanus knew each other from childhood. Since Mary began using her middle name Jane, she became known as Jane Love-Rust, which over time has led others to believe her maiden name was Love when actually Rust is the maiden name for her, and Love is the surname of her first husband prior to her marriage to Sylvanus Rust.

NOTE: Eliza Rust is listed on census records with Ella and Samuel one year. The census claims she is a daughter to Ella, but that cannot be as the ages are wrong. The age of Eliza was given as 26, born about 1884, and she would be too old to be a child of Ella and Samuel. This then gives proof the parents of Ella and Eliza both are Sylvanus and Mary Jane. Eliza is certainly not a child of Ella and Samuel.
Also, the parents of Eugene Farnsworth Binkley and Oaklona L. "Oakie" Binkley (the 2nd wife of Sylvanus) are Franklin "Frank" Pierce and Mary Ann Krantze Binkley.

I have not been able to find any further information on her husband at this time. Mary Margaret died shortly after she was married, and there are no found children listed at this time, and few records are found for her.
Sylvanus passed away April 30, 1927 in Davidson County, Tennessee, USA in the Davidson County Asylum for the Aged, Insane and Destitute; Marital Status listed as Widowed (though he was widowed from Mary Jane, his second wife Oakie was still living; Occupation listed as Farmer. So far there are no available cemetery burial records yet to be been found for Oakie, the second wife of Sylvanus Rust.

Oakie Is Not Fannie
Oakie is not Fannie Lee Binkley Polston, and Fannie was married to Frederick Kniowlen "Fred" Polston. The following explains why Oakie and Fannie are not the same person as so many want to believe. In 1920 Oakie and Sylvanus are actually living in Florida. Below is the 1920 census which proves this. Ancestry transcribers have transcribed the names incorrectly. If you look at the census closely you will see it is actually Sylvanus Rust and his family, though it is difficult to read.

Now for some reason people have confused Fannie Lee Binkley Polston as being Oakie, and this is incorrect, which can be proven by the 1920 census showing Fannie is married to Fred Polston and living in Tennessee. The children also do not match the children for Sylvanus and Oakie. This is a totally different woman with a different husband in 1920 with a different child listed, and living in a different area.

Clearly these are 2 totally separate women. Oakie and Fannie may well be cousins, which is only a guess. Records though do prove Oakie and Sylvanus lived in Florida for a time as seen on the 1920 US Census for Florida, where they are listed. Oakie also died before Sylvanus with his death being listed as 1927.
Now, I believe that Sylvanus and Mary Jane (Rust) Love Rust likely met Fannie and Oakie both at the church they attended, which Sylvanus and Mary Jane are both buried in the church's cemetery. The cemetery belongs to the church which was founded in 1859 as Mt Pleasant Free Will Baptist. Which is also likely where Eliza met Eugene. Oakie Is Not Fannie
Oakie is not Fannie Lee Binkley Polston, and Fannie was married to Frederick Kniowlen "Fred" Polston. The following explains why Oakie and Fannie are not the same person as so many want to believe. In 1920 Oakie and Sylvanus are actually living in Florida. Below is the 1920 census which proves this. Ancestry transcribers have transcribed the names incorrectly. If you look at the census closely you will see it is actually Sylvanus Rust and his family, though it is difficult to read.

Now for some reason people have confused Fannie Lee Binkley Polston as being Oakie, and this is incorrect, which can be proven by the 1920 census showing Fannie is married to Fred Polston and living in Tennessee. The children also do not match the children for Sylvanus and Oakie. This is a totally different woman with a different husband in 1920 with a different child listed, and living in a different area.

Clearly these are 2 totally separate women. Oakie and Fannie may well be cousins, which is only a guess. Records though do prove Oakie and Sylvanus lived in Florida for a time as seen on the 1920 US Census for Florida, where they are listed. Oakie also died before Sylvanus with his death being listed as 1927.
Now, I believe that Sylvanus and Mary Jane (Rust) Love Rust likely met Fannie and Oakie both at the church they attended, which Sylvanus and Mary Jane are both buried in the church's cemetery. The cemetery belongs to the church which was founded in 1859 as Mt Pleasant Free Will Baptist. Which is also likely where Eliza met Eugene. Fannie was very active for the Free Will Baptist denomination within the community, which is documented online by her relatives. So, even if Oakie and Fannie were only cousins they more than likely went to the same church, or at least knew the Rust family through activities within the denomination of the Free Will Baptist. Considering the records I have meticulously researched I believe without a doubt this is correct information.
It is with certainty that Fannie is not Oakie, and Oakie is not Fannie, no matter how much people want this to be so. Unless Oakie was able to split herself into 2, and be with 2 different men at the same time, and in 2 totally different states at the same time in 1920, then it can be said without a doubt Oakie and Fannie are 2 totally different people, and Fannie is not who people are looking for when they look for Oakie. They do not have the same parents listed, nor the same children, and do not have the same husbands.
