Frank A. Mahnke, age 92, a resident of Harbor Heights of Sheboygan, died on Monday evening, March 14, 2005, at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Frank was born on Jan. 20, 1913 in Sheboygan, a son of the late Reank E.P. and Marie (Krumrey) Mahnke. He attended U.S. Grant School, graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1931 and then attended the Sheboygan Falls Teachers College graduating in 1934.

Frank served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from the Air Corps School of Administration at Fort Logan, Colo. and then served with the 334th Service Squadron at Keyfield, Miss.

On Nov. 20, 1943 he was united in marriage to Joanette Schilder at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2003.

Frank was employed at Security First National Bank starting in 1936. He served progressively in each department and spent his final seven years there as a trust auditor. He retired in 1978.

Frank was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 83.

Frank is survived by nephews, John Schilder of Sheboygan Falls and Robert Schilder of Howards Grove; a niece, JoAnn (Tim) Alfred of California along with great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
