He was born in Salem and graduated from Salem High School in 1933. He was a retired printer and owned and operated the Keizer News from 1952 to 1963. He enjoyed roller skating, fishing and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille, whom he married in 1945; daughter, Diane Mulligan of West Linn; and sister, Doris Jayes of Salem.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Unity Church, 1777 Fabry Road SE. Interment will be at City View Cemetery. Arrangements are by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors. Contributions: the church.
