Born in Summers County, Dec. 29, 1894, he was a son of the late John and Virginia Meador Angell.
Mr. Angell, a lifelong resident of Summers County, was a retired machinist for the CSX Corp., formerly the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Co., and a member of the Beech Run Baptist Church and a Navy World War I Veteran.
His wife, Minnie Cox Angell, died in January 1962, and two sons Zina Jr in 1964 and Orbra in 1979.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth and Bernard, both of Hinton, and Grover of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Carlos (Emma) Lilly of Goldsboro, N.C., and Mrs. Billy (Margaret) Apostolon of Hinton; three brothers, William C. of Charlottesville, Va.; and Dewey and Woodrow, both of Hinton; three sisters, Mrs. Nola Whitlock and Mrs. Hazel Jones, both of Hinton and Mrs. Christine McEwen of San Marcos, Tex.; 27 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Leatherwood Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy Treadway and Joe Boland and Elder A.L. Neely officiating. Burial followed in the Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton.
