Robert M. Spiva, 87, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, following a brief illness.
He was a native of Pittsburgh, in the Oklahoma Territory. He has lived here for the past 45 years, coming from Douglas, Ga. He was retired from the former Hudson Pulp & Paper Corp., retiring as a welding foreman, after 24 years of service. He was formerly active in the union at the pulp mill. His nickname was "Indian."
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald E. Spiva.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldina Wood Spiva of Palatka; daughters, Barbara S. Jewell of Gainesville; sister, Marguerite Belt of Wichita Falls, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Palatka Memorial Gardens in Palatka.
