Funeral services were held Sunday, May 27, for George Robert Hettenbach,66,who passed away Wednesday,May 23, at his home in Maramec.
Born July 11, 1865 in Quay, he has lived in Pawnee county most of his life. On September 30, 1923, he married Alena Powell at Jenny Lind, Arkansas.
He was a member of the Holiness Church. His wife preceded him in death in January of 1940 as did a son, Charles R. Hettenbach on Dec. 11, 1958.
Services were held at 2:30 in the Maramec Baptist church with the Rev. Sherman Elder officiating and interment was in the Cleveland cemetery under the direction of the Poteet funeral home.
Survivors include 3 daughters and 2 sons: George Jr. and James B Hettenbach, both of Maramec. Mary Barnes and Bertha Sebolt both of Odessa, Tex., and Maggie Alexander of Modesta, Calif., plus 25 grandchildren. Also 5 sisters and 3 brothers: Rosa Buler of Dewey; John Hettenbach of Pawnee; Mary Dillon of Twin Falls, Idaho; Ella Hanger of Pawnee; Bertha Hettenbach of Cushing; Henry Hettenbach of Maramec; Lee Hettenbach, Twin Falls, Idaho and Louise Parks of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
