DOTY SERVICES
Funeral services for Dr. Alvah Hunt Doty, 80, husband of Ida Blanche Rees Doty, formerly of Pittsburgh, who died Sunday in his home in Pelham, N.Y., will be held there this afternoon. Born in Albany, N.Y., the son of Lockwood and Sarah D. Doty, Dr. Doty was a graduate of Bellevue Hospital Medical College, New York. In 1901 he married Ida Blanche Rees, and later became health officer of the port of New York, which position he held until 1911, when he accepted a position as lecturer in the medical college from which he graduated. He was medical director of the Western Union Telegraph Company and a member of the subcommittee on Welfare Work of the Advisory Commission of the Council of National Defense. He was a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine and a member of the American Medical Association. He leaves his widow and a son, Alvah Hunt Doty Jr., both of Pelham.
