She never married and lived at home with her parents working as a stenographer. Sometime prior to 1930 she became an inmate at Agnew's State Hospital (now defunct) in San Jose where she remained until 1949 when she was transferred to De Witt State Hospital (also defunct) in Auburn. Suffering from schizophrenic dementia and ultimately dying from colon cancer, she died there at the age of 56 years.
A low mass was held for her soul at St. Francis Church in San Francisco. She was buried on 23 February 1951.
