MRS. BIRDIE STEELE McCLAREN DEAD
Mrs. Bridie McClaren, wife of Perry H. McClaren, well known farmer of the Midwill community, died last Saturday in the Loreta Hospital at Dalhart, following an operation for an intestinal obstruction. At the time of her death her age was 46 years, 10 month and 20 days. She was born April 3, 1889.
Mr. and Mrs. McClaren were taken to the Dalhart hospital Thursday of last week, and Mr. McClaren has been seriously ill with pneumonia, and was unable to attend the funeral services.
The funeral services for Mrs. McClaren were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the local Baptist church conducted by the pastor Rev. R.D. Dodd and interment was made in the Texhoma cemetery.
Mrs. McClaren moved to the Griggs community with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Steel, in 1907. When a young woman she taught school for a number of years, giving up her profession in caring for her mother who had become an invalid. She was a member of the Baptist church and also a member of the Texhoma Rebekah lodge.
She is survived by Mr. McClaren, one son, Glen Robert, two brothers, Dave and Bryce Steele, and one sister, Mrs. J.S. Worst,and other relatives—Texhoma (Okla.) Times.
Mrs. McClaren was a cousin of Mrs. Wallace Baugh and was reared near Lincoln, Mo.
